The European side of GUFF started the year with an auction at Istrakon, the first Croatian con of the year. Lauren Beukes was Guest of Honour, promoting the Croatian translation of her book The Shining Girls. Of course there was one donated to the auction and signed by the author.
The SFeraKon 2014 GUFF auction featured a lot of books, which was no surprise as the biggest Croatian con is the most literary oriented one. So it was not weird that most donations for that particular one were in books. What was weird was the fact that book did not sell well at all! Everything that was not a book did, however, so the fund is a bit richer for it!
